Mass & Balance Envelopes

To enable users to generate envelopes for each aircraft, key parameters are recorded as part of the Aircraft Admin/Mass and Balance set up. Once the relevant entries are made, the envelope will be created automatically. 

To set up the weights, moment arms and envelope for your aircraft

• Determine the parameters identified on the Mass & Balance Centre of Gravity chart in the Pilot’s Operating Handbook for the relevant aircraft as shown on the example above. If there are no Aft Minimum Weight Limits, leave the related entries blank.
• On CloudBaseGA select Admin/Aircraft Admin/Mass and Balance.
• Enter the weights (lbs.) and moment arms (ins.).
• Enter the values (C of G position limits in inches and Weights in Pounds) obtained from the aircraft POH in the associated fields. 
• Click Save.

Test the calculated the envelope 

• On CloudBaseGA select Aircraft/Mass and Balance.
• Enter Loads for the various seats and baggage areas. Preferably choose loads that result in the AUW and C of G position at AUW and CofG Limits. 
• Note the calculated AUW and C of G position displayed on the on the CloudBaseGA page, identify the location on the POH envelope and confirm this matches the cursor position on the CloudBaseGA envelope.
